OEX Cursor with partners launches innovative end-to-end sales support service

  • Knowledge base

OEX Cursor, in cooperation with ShelfWise and ABR SESTA, will offer a solution that, using image recognition technology and advanced data analysis, will facilitate increasing sales in the traditional channel. The service will enable precise actions to improve distribution and implement display standards in 10,000 of the group's most important stores.

Our proposed solution provides manufacturers with precise information that will ensure better alignment of assortments with current and potential consumer needs. The system, after processing the data obtained at a point from a store shelf, recommends specific actions, such as introducing a product to sales, improving product display on a shelf or modifications in category management. By taking point action, undertaken only in stores where we identify the potential for growth, we maximize sales and minimize costs

- Piotr Haman, president of OEX Cursor SA, said.

The platform processes data from 10,000 retail outlets in Poland, which are obtained periodically by the OEX Cursor network of sales representatives.

The system processes images in the data of interest practically in real time. The customer can have information in his system as early as the next day. The technology is based on artificial intelligence. Its efficiency is at the level of human work, but the cost of data acquisition, especially at large scale, is much lower

- adds Konrad Szczukiewicz of ShelfWise

The system was developed with in mind for large and medium-sized nationwide suppliers in the FMCG market. It also opens up interesting opportunities for small-format retail chains, which can use it to implement and control sales and display standards.

A very important part of the solution is the analysis of the acquired information and its confrontation with demographic and other data, which determine the potential of the studied outlet. Only advanced processing of data from multiple sources will allow to prepare precise recommendations of actions at the level of each store, which will translate into sales growth

- said Pawel Jurowczyk of ABR Sesta

According to the project's developers, it will be a tool that FMCG companies can use to communicate with the market, introduce new products and implement marketing policies. The acquired data can be used to optimize other areas related to marketing and sales. The solution not only provides data, but provides the ability to effectively contact the market with the use of new technology tools.

The project has now passed the technical testing phase on a sample of about 1,000 stores and has met with great interest from potential customers.

The project is scheduled to launch at Q1 2019.
